Warhammer 40,000: Mortal Gods

Chapter 1006: Death-Fearing

When the King of Silence was instantly pulled in to the same level as Qin Mo, his guards immediately began to move.

The Grand Justice and some unarmed civil servants began to avoid, making way for the warriors who were specially used for fighting.

However, the King of Silence raised his hand, and all the guards stopped and stood back to their original positions.

"Being able to simply and roughly pull the space closer without any technical means, this is the power of the Star God."

"But don't get me wrong, I don't judge whether you are a human or a Star God. In this universe where there is a soul, self-awareness is obviously more important than the material form."

These two sentences were not said by the Grand Justice, but by the King of Silence.

The light between its bone gaps flickered as syllables came out of the sound device.

The Grand Justice obviously did not think it was a polite thing for the King of Silence to speak in person, but it was not qualified to point fingers at the King of Silence's behavior as it served the true king.

"I agree." Qin Mo looked at the King of Silence, "Do you think you are a Necrontyr or a programmed leader of a robot race?"

"The Necrontyr has perished, and the real Szalak has died in the biotransformation furnace. This is a cruel truth that my people generally cannot accept, but I know it very well and accept it."

Szalak's tone was very cold and gentle. I don't know if it was because the sound device it used did not have the function of simulating emotions, or if it had the same tone of voice before it turned into a metal skeleton.

But after hearing Szalak's words, Qin Mo felt that he had achieved three points of the purpose of coming here through the portal.

"Although the Necrontyr race has souls, it is not a species with strong psychic talents like humans today."

"The Necrontyr do not explore the spiritual world much, even though the Necrontyr's lifespan in the material world is very short."

"Although the Necrontyr has perished, we robots in your eyes also have a corresponding inheritance relationship with it, so we do not explore the spiritual world, and therefore do not discuss philosophy. I believe that you did not come here to discuss philosophy with me."

Szalak slowly stood up from the throne. His body was not as agile and strong as that of a combat-type necromancer, so the action of him getting down from the throne looked like an old man.

When Qin Mo closed the space distance, he deliberately let Szalak sit on the throne at the same height as himself, instead of looking up at himself.

This is a kind of respect, and accordingly, as the leader of a species, Szalak will also give equal respect.

The King of Silence stood up from the throne and faced Qin Mo face to face, instead of him sitting and the visitor standing.

"This is not in accordance with etiquette." The Grand Justice said.

"How do you make the etiquette of the Necrontyr period applicable to foreigners? It doesn't even fully apply to us." Szalak said as he moved his fingers, and then the Grand Justice's voice device was temporarily closed.

That was not an act similar to taking over the voice device, but directly invading and controlling the voice device with something.

Qin Mo could feel what that thing was, an advanced hacking device, attached to the moving finger of the King of Silence with a molecular volume.

It is estimated that the intrusion equipment used by the Menak Dynasty Fleet in information warfare is less than one ten-thousandth of it.

"Continue." The King of Silence made a gesture of invitation, indicating that the conversation could continue.

"You said that the Necrontyr's exploration of the spiritual world is not deep, but I think you have at least explored the philosophy of death to a very deep degree." Qin Mo looked around.

This is a common tomb, tomb world, tomb battleship, and tomb structure of the space Necromancer species.

That is not where they sleep, but where they work, live, and live.

This worship of death permeates the entire Necrontyr culture.

"No matter how uninterested a species is in philosophy, when it faces the death that cannot be forgotten due to its short lifespan, it will also explore it in depth."

As Szalak responded to Qin Mo's words, the space on the scene changed.

There were no other people besides the two of them, no other structures, only endless silence and darkness.

In the darkness, a huge square tombstone rose from the ground, engraved with a condensed historical picture of the experience of the entire Necrontyr race.

"The short life of the Necrontyr is caused by the star that burns their home planet. The internal activity of this star is too intense, releasing powerful radiation."

"The Necrontyr was born in such an environment, and each of them is a radiation patient."

"Later, the Necrontyr scientists discovered that the abnormal activity of the star in the galaxy where the home planet is located is not without reason, because a star god named Nightbearer lives there, which leads to the origin of all the tragedies of the Necrontyr race."

Szalak stretched out his hand.

The pattern engraved on the tombstone released sufficient information, making Qin Mo feel as if he had returned to the time when the Necrontyr race was just born.

"At that time, you had not yet created living metal bodies for the Star Gods, and they were not yet self-aware life forms." Qin Mo looked at the stars, "This may not be a conspiracy of the Night Holders."

"This is certainly not a conspiracy, it's just the unconscious instinctive behavior of the Star God, a star vampire, in a chaotic state." Szalak stretched out his hand.

The entire space seemed to change and flow in its hands.

Qin Mo gradually saw the other history of the short-lived species, the Necrontyr.

Radiation sickness plagued this species, and they were eager to solve their short-lived problem, and then they discovered the long-lived species, the Ancient Saints.

The Ancient Saints refused to share their secrets of longevity, so the Necrontyr went to war out of jealousy and the urgent need to divert internal conflicts.

That was not the Heavenly War that broke out later under the leadership of the Star God, but its cruelty was far beyond the limits that young species could imagine now.

Szalak wanted to show the past of this race, while Qin Mo was more concerned about the details.

"The Necrontyr is a tenacious race." Qin Mo sighed from the bottom of his heart.

He was full of admiration for the Necrontyr. This was not a political means of flattery or leaving a good impression on the other party, but just sincere admiration.

This race was abnormally short-lived, but they still passed on their culture and accumulated knowledge.

In the information released by the pattern on the tombstone, Qin Mo saw the history that he admired the most.

The elders of the Necrontyr race, teachers with rich knowledge, designed a language of almost transparent thinking, and put everything they knew into the huge library on the mother planet without reservation, to ensure that the younger generations after entering the library can master the knowledge accumulated by their predecessors for hundreds of years and dozens of generations in the shortest time.

If it were not for such selfless dissemination, and painstaking learning and inheritance, the short-lived Necrontyr race would not have the possibility of leaving the mother planet.
