Chapter 548 Cleaning Work
"Hey, are you okay?"
Lin Fan's voice interrupted Trazyn's memories, and the overlord looked back at Lin Fan. He shook his head and told him that things here were temporarily over, and there were no more active units in this small dynasty.
"Only these ruined buildings are left, recording their past stories."
Tarazyn was not in high spirits. He swept away the remains of the overlord on the throne and found a book among the metal parts.
The book was only in appearance, and it was a miracle that it did not turn into a pile of disintegrated fragments in the baptism of time. The title of the book could not be seen clearly, and Trazyn could only guess that the book was a diary or a commemorative album. He used a stasis stand to accurately cover the book and put it into the pocket space.
"Let's go up and see how much fresh meat the skinners can plunder this time."
Everyone left the tomb and headed towards the human settlement on the surface.
A portal was torn open in the boiler wall of the factory, and boiling red molten iron poured towards Trazyn. As soon as Trazyn raised his hand, the molten iron was fixed in mid-air.
The tragedy caused by the skinners was everywhere, with large clumps of blood on the ground and rotten flesh leaking from the gaps in the skinners' bodies.
Under the shadow of the furnace hundreds of meters high, the sound of stuffing meat came, and the skinners with a slightly dark luster were eating big chunks of meat, although their eating was just stuffing meat into the gaps, repeating this process until the meat was rotten beyond recognition.
Some skinners with better skills could do better. They peeled the victim's skin more easily than peeling an apple. The way they opened the scalp was like tearing a grapefruit with their hands, making a dull sound. When you connect this sound with the scalps being torn apart one after another, the creepy feeling will overwhelm you and make you breathless.
The skinners wore skin and flesh, most of which remained intact, but the metal protrusions on their bodies would cause damage to the skin. The skinners tilted their heads in one direction after another, and this action never stopped. They were like a group of patients tortured by neck pain, shaking their heads to break bones and pulling muscles and ligaments to make the sound of stretching belts.
In this sound, there was a mixture of hoarse and chaotic language. The skinners called out to the living, using the voices of various relatives and friends to hurt others' psychological limits.
A few gunshots were heard, and then silence. The personnel responsible for security in the factory area could not support this nightmare for too long.
"Stay away from me! You bastards!" A worker shouted in fear. His co-workers were cut into steaks and pieces in resistance, and the impact drills in their hands could not protect them.
The worker grabbed a pipe on the wall with his hands, trying to avoid the skinner's attack from a high place. But he climbed too slowly, and the skinner's claws hooked the man's calf. The rusty and bloody claws gently pulled, and the calf was separated from the worker's body with bones and flesh.
No one knew how he could endure such pain. The worker held on to his breath and continued to crawl, letting the blood flow. His calf caused a commotion among the skinners, and the group of metal ghouls fought for it.
The worker tried to catch his breath, and he panted against the wall, feeling his body getting weaker and weaker. The bleeding wound on his calf would kill him sooner or later.
"Stay here well." The worker heard an order, and then a needle-like feeling came from the worker's neck. He immediately felt his body regain strength, and the dull pain in his calf was replaced by a tingling sensation.
The worker looked in the direction of the sound and saw a group of elegant and agile shadows flashing by. "Ghosts fighting ghosts?" He asked himself, and then watched these flashing shadows fighting among the skinners.
Swords flashed, sparks flew. Every attack of the skinners could cause serious injuries, but these shadows could perfectly maneuver among the skinners.
Iverene's Death Army elites cut off the limbs of the skinners, making these ghouls incapable of movement. Lin Fan's sledgehammer was responsible for crushing the skinners' torsos. As for Trazyn, he was worried about the infection of the skinners, so he just chose a safe position and watched.
These skinners wandering in the factory finally suffered an effective blow. Their hunting mentality told them that they should not waste too much time here. One by one, they slid into the side of the dimension and disappeared.
Lin Fan crushed the metal head of a skinner with one foot, and the survivors in the factory gathered around them to express their gratitude for saving their lives.
These workers did not know the Eldar wearing armor. To them, these Eldar wearing full armor looked similar to them, but they were taller and slender.
"My lord, will those monsters come back?" A worker asked Lin Fan, with fear and confusion in his eyes.
"They won't come back. The Empire will destroy these monsters."
Such an ambiguous answer is what the Empire said to all non-human monsters. However, these workers could not ask for anything more, and could only pray silently to the Emperor, hoping that they would not be the ones chopped into pieces next time.
Lin Fan called Perturabo and asked about the battle situation in other areas.
"Those damn things all ran away, and they took Lanko away too!" Perturabo was very angry. He stood on a hillock made of the remains of a group of skinners, surrounded by vigilant Space Marines and security guards.
He was at the junction of the super prison and the factory area, where there was a several-kilometer-wide road connecting them. At the end of the road, Perturabo could see the gate of the super prison.
The prison gate made of ceramic steel and quick-concrete was like a fortress, and the narrow firing ports also served as windows, but the large amount of blood spurting out of those firing ports was enough to tell that the situation inside the prison was similar to that of a slaughterhouse.
Dozens of skinners were repaired, and they tried to stand up from the hillock and attack Perturabo, but Perturabo just stomped his feet hard and crushed the skinners into thin slices with his heavy boots.
"And you rubbish! The battle just now let you see a living person! You haven't watched me yet!"
Bashar and Hope bowed their heads with shame on their faces. The battle was not critical just now. Although there were so many skinners pouring out of the prison gate, Perturabo's firepower and command ability were fully utilized.
A hard battle turned into a spring outing, and the mission of these Space Marines was to protect Lanco, but Lanco was taken away by the sudden appearance of the Flayer.
The story of the Empire and the Mechanicus
Emperor: I do not allow any form of religious belief to exist.
Mechanicus: We must maintain our beliefs.
Emperor: This is simply unacceptable! It is settled then.
