Chapter 754 Refutation of the Demon

Li Qi looked at Shariputra in front of him. Although he looked humble, that was something that happened in the future.

Many years ago, Shariputra was also full of arrogance, thinking that no one in this world could match his wisdom.

But after getting acquainted with Asheva, under the guidance of this venerable man, he met the Buddha.

The Buddha gave sermons to him, and the knowledge was displayed in front of him. It was like the sky was falling apart, like the sunlight tearing apart all the haze, and like thunder breaking through the dark sky. Sariputra's eyes suddenly became bright, and his heart was full of those universes. The accumulated doubts were also solved one after another.

He has understood that the physical body is impermanent and cannot exist permanently. All people in the world fall into the twelve causes and conditions and go through life and death due to ignorance and ignorance. Human beings are born from love and affection; from birth to old age, from old age to illness, from illness to death, from death to sadness and crying, and to infinite pain.

Since Shariputra knows that love is the root of life and death, he should observe his own body and other bodies, and always think about lochia, saliva, cold and heat, smelly places...all kinds of impurities in the body to prevent them from corrupting the body. Once the body is corrupted, the body will be When eaten by insects, the bones are dismembered and turned into dust, which means they are 'dead'.

So he clasped his hands together and recited: "I will be like this when I die. I should not rely on my own beauty to make decorations, and my heart will be arrogant. I should be aware of impermanence. Only if people give charity and do good deeds and do not pay tribute to themselves can they be invincible." "

Shariputra became a disciple of the Buddha and believed that he had truly found his own path.

The Buddha was also very happy. He felt that only people today could accept the truth he had realized. Shariputra also felt that he had met a true teacher.

When Shariputra bowed into the Buddha's door, many Bodhisattvas praised one after another. The three thousand great lands were shaken. Light shone in all directions. Flowers and fruits grew on all dry and dead trees. Clear springs flowed out of dried up ditches. Musical instruments like the konghou and harp sang without the drums. Jewelry bead rings naturally make crisp sounds.

After only one sermon, Shariputra achieved the seventh level of attainment. Buddha light surrounded his body, and great wisdom appeared. Five-colored rays of light emitted from his mouth, illuminating the Buddha land. This light also surrounded his body and entered from the top of his head.

This incident made his reputation spread, so the world and even the heavens knew about Shariputra's existence, just like when Li Qi caused trouble in Chang'an or when the Demon Prince challenged all his opponents at the same level in the entire world.

Li Qi had this information lingering in his mind. He had already read Shariputra's information in advance at Changqiao, compiled a lot of it, and had some understanding of Shariputra.

So, seeing Shariputra arriving, Li Qi first returned the greeting and then went straight to the point.

Li Qi had a doubt that had been buried for a long time.

He curiously asked Shariputra: "Venerable Shariputra, not long ago, I saw with my own eyes that your Taoist heart was gloomy, your wisdom was covered with dust, and your Taoist heart was possessed by demons. How did you end up being devoured by the secondary demons? What about the one who breaks out of his cocoon and is reborn?”

Hearing Li Qi's question, Shariputra smiled and said, "If wisdom is covered with dust, doesn't it cease to be wisdom?"

He kept his hands clasped together and said, "I once heard a story, which may answer the donor's doubts."

Shariputra began to narrate: "There was once a wise man named Fuluna. He vowed not to wear gorgeous clothes, not to wear fragrant flowers, not to watch kabuki music, and never to get together as a couple before he gained wisdom."

"Pulou Na gave up his love, said goodbye to his parents and wife, and went to the mountains to study. He was clothed in straw clothes and endured hunger, cold and hardship. He vowed to learn and master the ninety-six kinds of sutras and treatises, otherwise he would not go back to meet all the people he loved. He spent half of his life studying, and finally mastered all the classics of knowledge. Then he returned to his hometown. At that time, he had a torch on his head and a copper pole hanging on his chest and abdomen. As he walked, he said to others: "I already have wisdom!" '"

"So, a Bodhisattva told him: 'Foolish people, if they have a little knowledge, are arrogant and arrogant, just like a blind man holding a candlelight that can illuminate others but cannot see the light himself'."

"When Fuluna heard this, he suddenly understood. He gave up the torch, took off the copper, bowed respectfully, and felt ashamed to repent of his mistakes. Because of his extensive knowledge, wisdom, and sharpness in all faculties, he practiced spiritual practice after enlightenment, and he eradicated the three realms. Worry, attain the fruit of Arahantship.”

This is a very common story.

Shariputra said, looked at Li Qi, stopped smiling, and said to Li Qi with a solemn expression: "When I was in the fifth grade, everyone in the world knew my wisdom, thought I had great wisdom, and preached my wisdom everywhere. In this case, what’s the difference between me and Fu Lou, who carries a torch on his head and hangs a bronze shield on his chest and abdomen?”

Li Qi thought thoughtfully and nodded slightly: "So... if you allow your wisdom to become dusty and your Taoist mind to be possessed by demons, you have to abandon the torch above your head, take off the copper pole, break it and stand up again, and use the power of the secondary demon to break out of the cocoon and be reborn, and gain liberation. …Wait a minute, you did this because the Demon Prince pointed this out?”

Li Qi suddenly realized something!

Shariputra was very confident that he could be reborn, and the secondary demons would never be able to win.

Because he knew that the fifth-grade version of himself was as ridiculous as what happened to Fuluna, so he took the initiative to reincarnate and blinded wisdom. He firmly believed that by blinding wisdom, he could truly recognize 'wisdom' What is it.

But this made Li Qi feel that something was wrong.

So, he asked: "Shariputra, you were inspired by the demon prince, and then used the tentacles of the demon as a 'cocoon' to nurture yourself, and then broke through the demon to stand up again. Don't you think... you are contaminated with the devil's way? Too many relationships?"

Shariputra bowed slightly and said, "About this... I'm afraid I can't tell the donor. The donor has done me a favor, but I can't say much. I'm really ashamed... But this matter is indeed of great importance. I can't say much about the demon's background. Please forgive me."

His attitude shocked Li Qi.

What does this mean? Shariputra knows very well what the demon is going to do? No...Shariputra can't know, that is to say, the Buddha knows very well.

The Buddha knows the demon's background and told Shariputra, but Shariputra can't tell Li Qi.

Li Qi also knows his limits. He nodded: "The demon path is dangerous... You'd better be careful."

"Remember it in my heart." Shariputra said: "But... Although I can't tell the donor about the demon, the donor has done me a favor. I see that the donor is the same as me, and is also guided by wisdom. I would like to discuss it with the donor. Is it okay?"

Although Shariputra said very ordinary, Li Qi knew that the other party wanted to tell him what wisdom is for reference.

Li Qi's wisdom is not bad. Although he is not necessarily famous for his wisdom, everyone who has seen him knows that Li Qi's thinking speed and frequency of sudden enlightenment are quite scary.

Shariputra also understood this, so he wanted to share his experience with Li Qi.

"I would like to hear the details." Li Qi did not refuse. It would be very useful to get Shariputra's thoughts on wisdom.

Shariputra nodded immediately and began to speak.

"I see that the donor has wisdom, but he is still entangled in troubles. The habit of troubles is dust, and wisdom can cleanse it. So I can use wisdom to cleanse all the dust in my heart."

"Wisdom, intelligence, and understanding of principles are obtained by being close to a wise teacher, being humble and hardworking, and studying hard. If you want to stay away from the sufferings of the three evils and eight difficulties and want to seek all blessings, you should cultivate wisdom. Through hard study, you have wisdom. Although you fall into the evil way because of karma, you can recognize your fate because of your wisdom, and because you can Knowing the past life, we know how to change the devil and correct ourselves, and quickly get rid of the devil's way. "

"Those who have achieved wisdom and liberation have seven virtues: faith, diligence, precepts, shame, knowledge, generosity, and concentration and wisdom. The donor has broad wisdom and is not ordinary. This is because he once carefully guarded his body, speech, and mind, and focused his mind on practicing wisdom. Due to the power of wisdom, he was liberated, and he can use wisdom to teach people all over the world. "

"Good teachers can teach us to develop bodhi mind, eliminate demons and correct ourselves, and move towards liberation. Bodhisattvas want to get rid of suffering and get liberation. One should approach good teachers, practice the Dharma, gain wisdom, and then teach others to achieve the bodhisattva practice of benefiting oneself and others. "

"If one wants to gain much knowledge and wisdom, one should approach good teachers, as the "Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch" says: "The so-called transformation and guidance leads to the realization of the nature, and all good things can be initiated by good teachers."

"Learning a lot makes the mind clear, and wisdom increases. With wisdom, one can understand the meaning, see, hear, and practice the Dharma. Listening to and upholding the Dharma can correct knowledge and views, open the mind, and increase wisdom. "

"When the Buddha attained enlightenment, he sighed: 'Wonderful! Wonderful! This How can all sentient beings possess the wisdom of Tathagata, but be ignorant and confused, and not know and see? 'However, although the Buddha nature is inherent, not everyone can perceive and awaken the delusion and attachment in their hearts. The Dharma is in the world and is inseparable from the worldly awareness. It should be known that "all realms are only mind, all dharmas are only consciousness", and all external conditions are only manifested by the mind--"

Sariputra talked endlessly, citing scriptures and classics, constantly expounding his understanding. Various words flowed out like water, and with the performance and the strange phenomena around him, he showed Li Qi the mystery.

But Li Qi frowned more and more as he listened.

He admitted that the wisdom that Sariputra said could guide practice, and he even added some means to restrain the devil, as if he wanted to tell Li Qi how to resist the devil with the Dharma.

But such wisdom, in Li Qi's view, was a bit...wrong.

These knowledge and methods are too focused on the "self" and the "heart", and what they think and imagine are all subjective things in the heart.

If we continue according to the ideas that Sariputra said, then... wouldn't it be the devil in the end?

But Li Qi didn't say much, but listened quietly.

The other party's sermon had not yet ended, and Li Qi didn't want to interrupt. Besides, what if there were more wonderful words later?

He continued to listen patiently.

After a while, Shariputra finally said: "The Buddha was focused and not distracted. He once raised his hand and said: I am the only one in the world. To save sentient beings from birth, old age, sickness and death, this is the constant law! It is born from the heart. The heavens and all things in the world are only "I". Prajna wisdom is the mother of Buddha, and everything comes from this."

Hearing this, Li Qi immediately stood up: "Nonsense! Nonsense! Shariputra, have you been invaded by the devil? How can you say such absurd words?!"

"How absurd?" Shariputra did not get angry, but asked Li Qi.

"I am the only one in the world, and all things in the world are only "I". If this is not the words of the devil, what is it!?" Li Qi shouted angrily.

Of course, Li Qi would not be so superficial as to think that this sentence was the Buddha's self-praise. In fact, the "I" in this sentence refers to self-consciousness itself.

What Shariputra meant by this is that the mind of sentient beings and the mind of Buddha are the same and originally one. The mind is Buddha, and Buddha is the mind. All sentient beings have Buddha nature, but they are bound by the many causes and conditions in the world and blinded by their own greed, anger, and ignorance. They act like deaf and blind. They cannot hear the true Dharma with their ears and cannot see the Tathagata with their eyes. Their original nature is obscured and they sink into depravity.

Those who have attained wisdom can forever leave behind delusion and attachment, and see the Tathagata in their own bodies. This is called Buddha.

So, this is the origin of the "Buddha Mother". Prajna wisdom is the ultimate wisdom, which specifically refers to the wisdom of truly recognizing all things and the origin of all things. It is a method to eliminate the combination of the seer and the seen and lead to the path of liberation.

Prajna wisdom, or "Prajna Paramita", is the mother of all Buddhas, but this "mother" does not refer to the mother, but to the Buddha's principle, the true nature of the Dharma, and Prajna wisdom. Because mothers in the world can give birth to children and reproduce offspring, Sariputra used it to illustrate the view that "wisdom can give birth to all Buddhas."

Buddha is born from the Dharma, and Prajna Paramita can observe all dharmas, distinguish the realities, and achieve everything. It is called the mother because of its great merits. Therefore, "wisdom" is the Buddha Mother.

As long as you can realize Prajna wisdom in your own heart, you can see the Tathagata in your heart.

This is why Li Qi couldn't help but stand up and get angry.

If so, what you see in your heart is not the Tathagata, but the devil, what should you do?

Moreover, how do you distinguish whether it is the Tathagata or the devil?

In this case, is there any difference between Buddha and demon? The demon and Buddha are both things in the mind, and the heavens and all things in the world are only "I". In any case, is there any difference between this and the demon?

The answer is, there is no difference.

Facing the furious Li Qi, Shariputra remained unmoved.

Li Qi was ready to take action.

If Shariputra has been possessed by the demon, then killing him now is considered saving people.

However, Shariputra continued to say: "Thus I have heard: Just purify the original mind, make the six consciousnesses go out of the six gates, in the six dusts, without stain or mixture, come and go freely, and use without hindrance, that is the Prajna Samadhi, free liberation, observation of freedom, seeing the Tathagata, everything is from the heart, free and at ease."

"Teach those sentient beings to practice the holy way, so that they can get rid of delusions, get rid of delusions, and obtain the infinite wisdom of the Tathagata, benefit and comfort all sentient beings. Donor Li Qi, this is the tenth phase of the Tathagata's heart, and all Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas should know it like this!"

With these words, the magic that had been activated in Li Qi's hand suddenly dissipated, and Li Qi's eyes suddenly widened!

Buddha——!

I'm going to his grandmother!

Li Qi didn't even think about this possibility, and he burst out with swear words in his heart, and the shock overflowed from Li Qi's expression.

The Buddha is worthy of being the Buddha!

The Buddha just refuted the existence of the devil so easily!
