Chapter 529 The Secret of Reincarnation

According to Li Qi's observation and understanding in the vicinity, Nyingma is a sect of Buddhism.

They seem to have taken on the task of spreading Buddhism in the vicinity, and people often come to spread various Buddhist teachings, but in fact, this sect does not seem to focus on studying Buddhist scriptures, nor does it have Buddhist theories, and can even marry and have children. They seem to have only learned simple Buddhist techniques and do not pay attention to the path.

Are these ordinary monks not paying attention, or what?

Well... everything should wait until a real Nyingma monk is found.

Li Qi thought so, and after a few days, he found another villager settlement.

In this settlement, Li Qi found a monk who seemed to be a real Nyingma monk.

This is also the first monk he has seen to reach the eighth level.

Unlike the monks in the Central Plains, this monk is wearing a bright red robe and a red hat like a cockscomb, performing rituals.

Li Qi did not show up rashly, but waited for the other party to perform rituals.

————————

Shakya Zhaba had just finished the last ritual and has now returned to his residence.

The herdsmen outside saw Shakya Zhaba off and said, "Thank you, Living Buddha, thank you, Living Buddha. We never dreamed that our ancestors would be able to ascend to the Buddha's kingdom one day--"

Shakya Zhaba replied, "As long as you hold on to good thoughts, think more, understand and follow the Dharma, you can also ascend to the Buddha's kingdom without my salvation."

Although he said this, the herdsmen showed a silly smile, obviously thinking it was unlikely.

Seeing their expressions, Shakya Zhaba sighed, and then said, "I will not leave these days. I will stay here to preach the Dharma. You can come and listen. If you can listen and learn, it will not be difficult to ascend to the Buddha's kingdom."

The herdsmen were overjoyed and hurriedly bowed again, thanking him continuously.

If someone can really understand something, then someone can also become a powerful master!

Shakya Zhaba pulled them up from the ground, picked up his luggage, said goodbye to the herdsmen, and returned to the house that the herdsmen had vacated for him.

Back in the house, he rested for a while, tidied his robes and red hat, and then began his daily practice.

But he made a seal with his hands, first turning right, which means protecting himself, then turning left, which means expelling all demons.

Then he pointed to the eight directions and up and down, which means bathing, and then combined with the secret seal mantra.

He recited the mantra three times: "Namo Samantabdho Namha..."

Then he made a Vajra fist with his left hand, erected the wind wheel, and did the same with his right hand, rotating the top of his head left and right, pointing to the upper and lower worlds, and then chanted the mantra.

He bowed to the Buddha three times.

He put his palms together with an open mind, and spread the two waters three times in reverse and forward, blessing all four places.

This is his daily practice, which is part of the worship of Buddha. He hopes to get the protection of the Buddha, expel demons, and clear his mind.

The whole set of rituals takes a long time. When he finished these, it was dark outside.

Shakya Zhaba got up again, walked to the other side, and started to cook for himself.

He was only an eighth-grade monk, and he had not yet reached the level of fasting, so he naturally had to cook. Moreover, he took asceticism as his responsibility, and he was not the same type as many monks who enjoyed themselves.

Those who enjoy happiness... but they really enjoy happiness. It seems that they only want to enjoy the blessings of this life, but are unwilling to consider the next reincarnation.

In this way, they will probably suffer in the next reincarnation...

It is really unwise. In this way, when can they achieve the right result?

These people are called living Buddhas. How can they become Buddhas if they are so unwise? Relying on the shadow of the previous life, doing good deeds in this life, they will probably be reincarnated as animals in the next life.

While cooking for himself, Shakya Zhaba thought about this.

It is precisely because of this understanding that he has the motivation to always abide by his desires, keep his heart and mind, and make a great wish to "save 100,000 dead souls". Today's hard practice is also for this.

Today's ritual has saved another dead person. The other party may fall into the underworld, but after his salvation, he has gone to the Buddha Kingdom. I hope that the other party can achieve the results of cultivation in the Buddha Kingdom and will not fall into the underworld and suffer.

There are still 45,962 people away from the goal of 100,000.

He remembered every one of them clearly, and this was the foundation he was going to build for himself.

Not everyone was qualified to go to the Buddha's kingdom. If he wanted to save the other person and let him go to the Buddha's kingdom, enjoy the paradise, and hear the Dharma, he had to bear the other person's sins.

With the power of great aspiration, he gathered the gratitude of 100,000 dead souls, bore the sins of 100,000 people, and forged the seventh-grade foundation.

The meal was ready, which was simply boiled mutton, with some plant seeds, and a little bit of grain.

The Nyingma sect was very secular and did not prohibit eating, because their food was all begged for alms, and they ate whatever others gave them, so there was nothing to pick.

Some monks who had their own industries would start to be picky about food.

Only rich people were qualified to be picky, and any fasting was actually a manifestation of surplus merit.

Real asceticism never picks, and eats whatever is available.

Just as he was eating mutton, suddenly, there was a knock on the door outside.

Shakya Zhaba was surprised, he did not feel any breath.

Buddhism has its own unique means of investigation. The famous six supernatural powers include divine eyes and divine ears, which can see through all illusions and understand everything. They are also good at deduction and divination.

For these monks, their spiritual perception and senses are very powerful.

But... after the knock on the door, he couldn't feel anything outside the door.

who is it? Which expert?

Doubts and worries arose in Shakya Drapa's heart, but it was impossible not to open the door, so he calmed down and said, "Who is the master?"

What Sakyamuni didn't expect was that the thing outside actually answered.

The voice and shadow replied: "I am Li Qi, who came from the southwest. I came across this place by chance and became curious, so I came to visit the Master. I have some questions that I would like to ask the Master to answer."

"It turns out that I have doubts, so let's just talk about it." Shakya Zhaba breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the door, ready to open the door.

If you can speak, it's good. If you can communicate, it means it's not that dangerous.

His penance requires traveling all over the country and practicing in various places. He encounters countless dangers along the way, but as long as he can talk and communicate, it is not too dangerous.

He opened the door and looked to see who was speaking outside.

But he saw a handsome-looking, but not that handsome, young man standing outside the door. He could only be described as handsome. He was of average height but with a strong build.

However, the other party is definitely no longer young, at least much older than Sakyamuni Draba.

Sakyamuni Drapa is fifty years old. Although his practice is good, the hard work is still grinding, so he looks like a middle-aged man at the moment.

Although the other party was young, the look in his eyes and the aura on his body gave Sakyamuni Drapa the feeling of... those elders who had achieved Sotapanna status.

The fruit levels of Buddhism include Sotapanna, Stragami, Anagami, Arahant, Bodhisattva, and Buddha.

Sotapanna fruit means "first fruit", which means you have achieved the first results.

Those who achieve this state will never fall into the three evil paths, cut off all confusion, and formally enter the door of Buddhism. Under normal circumstances, they will have unlimited life and will not die due to physical aging.

One of his elders has achieved Sotapanna. He is now nine hundred years old, but he is still young. The eyes of that elder are similar to the man in front of him.

That is to say...

The other party is a being of level seven or above. I don't know how long he has lived, but he must be much longer than himself.

It should be level seven, right?

"Senior, what doubts do you have, why do you come to see this young monk? For someone who has already entered the sect, I am afraid that his wisdom is beyond the reach of this young monk. If you have any doubts, how can I answer them?" Jazhaba said very confused.

Li Qi shook his head: "When three people are together, there must be my teacher. Everyone has something that others don't know. How can such things as knowledge be determined by cultivation level? Okay, let's not talk about this. Since the master is willing to explain it to me, If you are confused, I won’t be polite, but you will be rewarded afterwards, so please take it seriously.”

"Knowledge is not determined by cultivation... Ha, you are indeed a senior who has achieved wisdom. In that case, please come in." Sakyamuni Zhaba nodded slightly, as if he understood something, and then got out of the way, Let Li Qi enter the room.

Li Qi walked in and found a stool to sit down on.

Regarding Sakyamuni Drapa, he had been observing him for a few days and found that he was indeed an ordinary monk who worked seriously and was not a Zen wise monk.

After confirming this, he went to listen to Sakyamuni Drapa's sermons, which also talked about the righteous method rather than the evil method. It can be seen that it has nothing to do with the evil way.

After doing these tests, he took the initiative to knock on the door and visit the other party, wanting to ask why this land in the Western Heaven was so backward.

There is not even a farming civilization, and many of them are matrilineal clans, walk in marriage, and live a life of chasing water and grass. This level of civilization is simply worse than that of the ninth-level world.

So, after Li Qi sat down, his first question was this. He asked: "Is Xitian unattended? What are the Buddhas doing? Why are they so backward, with so many mortals and so many settlements, but no one is there? "Teaching the Dharma, what's going on? Does the Master know the reason?"

Hearing Li Qi's question, Sakyamuni Zapa frowned: "Is there any problem with this? The young monk doesn't quite understand what the senior means."

"I heard that the Buddhas in the West are compassionate. This is true," Li Qi explained.

"This is natural. Enlightened people are compassionate and have equal goodwill towards all things in the world. But what does this have to do with the predecessor's question?" Shakya Drapa asked in return.

"If you really have compassion, why don't you teach the Dharma? Why do you let them suffer so much? Look at the herdsmen outside, who are worried about three meals a day, trapped by the wind and frost, and are as confused as cattle and horses. The West has enough power to make them If you listen to the true Dharma, you can avoid this suffering, but why not do this?" Li Qi asked.

Wushenshan no longer cares about the people under its rule and lets you develop, but it still maintains the power of the great source of heaven and earth. The ordinary people under Wushenshan are all gifted. After a little practice, they can reach the top level. Just like eating, there are as many practitioners as there are spirits.

And how can Buddhism, which embraces compassion, do worse than Wushen Mountain? This place is purely a wasteland, not only a desert of life, but also a desert of practice.

Hearing Li Qi's question, Sakyamuni Drapa suddenly asked: "If they are allowed to be born in a Buddhist country, naturally enjoy the seven treasures and three beauties, and teach them the Buddha's Dharma, then... does that count as mercy?"

Li Qi was stunned.

Indeed, if we let these people live a life that is the same as humaneness, or even better, would that be considered mercy?

But Li Qi still asked: "If that is not compassionate, is this situation compassionate? I think that in this world, no matter what the path, suffering will not be regarded as compassion. ?”

"Really? Senior has already achieved immortality, so he should be quite old. Do you have any offspring?" asked Sakya Zhaba.

"I have offspring." Li Qi nodded, and Li Shiwei's face appeared in his mind.

This made him smile uncontrollably.

Looking at Li Qi's expression, Sakya Zhaba asked again: "May I ask, senior, will you let your offspring suffer? Is this kind of suffering a manifestation of love or malice?"

"How can this be mixed? Love for offspring should not develop into doting, so he needs to suffer, essentially for the future of his offspring, but these people have no future to speak of. They die quickly, born like this, and still like this when they die, one after another, just like weeds, born and die." Li Qi explained.

When saying that these people were like weeds, Sakya Zhaba noticed that the senior in front of him was not indignant, but stated his concept in an ordinary way.

This made Sakya Zhaba realize that the other party did not think that it was a special thing for people to become weeds. Perhaps for this senior, the suffering of these people was not important. The reason why he asked was just because he couldn't figure it out.

The Buddhist sect clearly claims to be compassionate, why do they treat these people as weeds like themselves?

"Senior is... a witch?" Sakya Zhaba asked.

"You have a good eye. Indeed, I am a witch." Li Qi nodded and admitted it directly.

Sakya Zhaba suddenly realized that indeed, the other party's performance was indeed like a witch.

For witches, weeds are a part of natural existence. Whether it is a person, an insect, or a plant, there is always something to be a weed. They will only think that this is normal and will not feel anything.

The sympathy of witches is never placed on things that are taken for granted, just like a documentary director will not interfere when he sees a seal being bitten to death by a killer whale.

"It doesn't matter what sect I am. What's important is the current problem. Why does Buddhism do this?" Li Qi ignored those and asked.

"You are a witch, so you naturally have no idea about this. After all, witches think that after death, people will be reincarnated. For witches, it is like fallen leaves returning to their roots, a natural cycle, but... Buddhists think otherwise." Sakya Zhaba said.

Li Qi blinked: "Oh? What do you mean?"

"You said before that these mortals are just like weeds, constantly dying, but death is not the end."

Li Qi took a deep breath after hearing this.

He understood.

Infinite reincarnation! The lives of these mortals are also infinite!
