Chapter 6 Hunting in the Forest
Five months later.
Sporadic snowflakes have been floating over the Pokhara forest.
This indicates that the Anzeta Plateau is about to enter winter, and the wild beasts have begun to hunt in groups to prepare for the long and cold winter.
The woods made rustling sounds, and gray figures quickly shuttled through the forest.
The protruding snout, the inverted triangle of dark blue eyes, and the sharp teeth all revealed their identities, dire wolves.
One of the top predators in the dense forest, the epitome of group hunting tactics.
And in front of them was a panicked herd of deer, running away desperately.
The wolves seemed to be neither hurried nor slow. The strongest dire wolf in the lead let out a long howl, and the rest of the dire wolves responded with soft howls.
There were more than ten wolves in this group of wolves. They cooperated with each other. Some drove the deer from the back, some from the side, and some even disappeared, gradually forming an open pocket-like formation.
After dozens of minutes of chasing, the wolf pack took the absolute initiative and drove the deer herd that had lost its footing to a mountain pass without spending too much energy.
The forest deer were panicked by the wolves' relentless pressure and regarded the pass as the last escape route, rushing into it like grabbing a life-saving straw.
In this chaotic situation, even small young deer were trampled to death.
But they didn't expect that the straw they thought was a life-saving straw was actually a trap.
"Ah-woo-"
When all the deer herd entered the valley, the wolf king let out a long trumpet excitedly, and the dire wolf that had disappeared before appeared at the other end of the valley. The wolf pack actually surrounded the entire deer herd, more than 30 deer, in this narrow pass.
The deer herd was already in a state of chaos at this time, hitting walls everywhere, but found that there were wolves staring at them everywhere.
The wolves were already flashing their dark blue pupils, and they couldn't wait to swarm up.
For a while, blood splattered everywhere, wailing continued, and the valley was filled with the smell of blood.
Finally, the leading male deer used its big horns to break through the wolf pack's blockade on the other side, leading more than a dozen deer to escape, leaving more than a dozen delicious bodies in the valley.
The wolf pack's goal has been achieved.
The dire wolves rushed forward and bit the flesh of the deer, wanting to have a full meal before winter and try to survive the extremely cold winter in the north.
The wolf king chewed the most delicious internal organs, enjoying this carefully prepared and hard-won meal.
A cloud of mist rose in the valley.
The wolves didn't take it seriously at first, until the mist became thicker and the entire wolf pack entered a hazy and chaotic state where they couldn't see each other clearly, and they were a little panicked.
Mysterious black shadows flashed from time to time in the mist.
"Crack, crack"
I don't know if it was the sound of the wolf pack biting the deer bones, or the sound of the wolf being bitten.
There were more chaotic wolf howls coming from the fog, some were hunting orders, some were attack horns, some were permission to eat, which sounded illogical to the wolves, but they had meaning.
If there were a knowledgeable wizard here, he could easily identify that this was just a trick [magic trick] - creating some extra sounds and touches through spells.
Unfortunately, these beasts were unaware of it, but they instinctively panicked about the unknown, and even lost their minds.
"Awoo--"
The wolf king stood up alertly, uttered a long trumpet, calling his companions.
The wolves also howled in confusion to confirm each other's approximate location.
But the thick fog had blurred their vision, and there were noisy strange sounds, making them unable to distinguish the direction and unable to obtain any effective information.
The wolf king suddenly found a strange sound in the sky.
Howling like the wind.
It subconsciously raised its head, but its pupils only reflected the blazing flames.
"Boom--"

"A big harvest, not a single one escaped."
Casius exhaled a breath of sulfur-smelling hot air briskly, and then spread his wings.
The red figure flew over the valley and hovered over the mountains and forests.
The red dragon turned into a terrible hunter, overlooking the many creatures in the forest, and continued to look for the next prey. The beasts that ordinary people avoided were just walking experience packs in his eyes.
Next to the bushes on the ground, a huge and ferocious wild boar was digging up the soil, looking for everything that could be eaten.
Whether it is the juicy roots of ferns, small snakes about to hibernate, or some clods of soil containing special elements, they will all become food for this wild boar.
This ferocious wild boar is more than two meters tall at the shoulder, and looks like a small mountain from a distance.
Its fangs are like two scimitars, extending from both sides of its mouth. Under the thick fur is thick fat, and the fur is covered with hard soil accumulated over the years.
Ordinary iron swords cannot even cut through this natural armor, and only the most experienced hunters dare to challenge this terrible beast.
"Hum."
The ferocious wild boar couldn't help but snort.
It sprayed out a ball of soil, and continued to arch down with its rough nose. After a lot of rummaging, it finally found the pupa of an unknown insect.
The ferocious boar swallowed the precious protein hastily as if it had found a treasure.
Suddenly, it found a small snake in the grass not far away, and it seemed to be running away.
"Hum"
The ferocious boar chased after it with brisk steps.
The small snake appeared and disappeared from time to time, luring the boar to a cliff.
When the fat beast took small steps and rushed forward in a hurry, ready to take it into its mouth and swallow it, the snake disappeared again.
A black shadow was cast above the cliff.
[Magic Missile]
Several arcane magic balls hit the boar's thick skin directly, causing him difficult to defend and unstoppable magic field damage.
The ferocious boar couldn't help but let out a painful wail, followed by a violent rage after being injured.
"Beast rage! "
The eyes were red with anger, the hair on the towering back suddenly exploded, and it circled around looking for a target to attack, and the ground was dusted by its hooves.
"Whoosh--"
This state is similar to the characteristics of a barbarian. In this state, the strength and physique of the wild boar will be terribly increased.
What's more terrifying is that it will become fearless of pain and tireless. I don't know how many adventurers thought they had seriously injured it, but were bitten in half by its fangs in anger.
However, the angry beast looked around again and again, but could not find the target or the source of the attack. It could only vent its excess, tidal anger everywhere.
"Boom!"
"Boom! Boom! "
It used its huge body to slam into the cliff, shaking off pieces of rubble, using its sharp fangs to poke through the soil and crush trees.
A few minutes passed.
When the rampage ended, the giant beast lay exhausted on the ground.
The surrounding environment was already a mess, with rubble everywhere on the ground, the soil was turned into tatters, and the cliff was covered with cracks.
And it seemed to have recovered from the anger of being hurt, and leisurely nibbled on the grass roots on the ground.
"Ignis (Fire Arrow)! "
A flaming arrow fell from the sky, burning its fur black.
Then, another red figure swooped down from the sky and directly clung to the towering back.
"Awoo."
The ferocious pig let out a crying wail, but no longer had the strength to stand up and fight.
It could only let the red dragon on its back bite its spine with its sharp teeth and end its life neatly.
This jungle tyrant that no one dared to provoke died in such a suffocating way.

Tear off the tough fur, scrape off the thick fat, revealing the bloody meat underneath.
Casius did not heat it up, just picked a piece of fresh meat from the tenderloin, tore it off, and put it in his mouth to chew and swallow.
Red dragons have their own unique digestive system, which can be said to be able to eat anything. Most of what they eat is converted into nutrients needed for growth, and the rest is converted into abundant elemental energy, with very little waste.
"Very chewy pork, but a little too old."
With a mouth full of blood, the red dragon did not forget to comment.
