The Pacifist Necromancer of Hogwarts

A New Year's Letter to Book Friends

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, I wish all my fellow readers a happy Year of the Dragon!!!

I spent a day of free time organizing the outline, and I hope I can continue to work hard to update in the new year orz

There are many things I want to say, but when it comes to typing, I write and delete, which can be regarded as a kind of tongue-tiedness in the information age.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my rough fanfiction across the Internet.

When I first started writing it, I had just graduated and was in a period of irritation when collecting rejection letters. The time difference separated me from my relatives and friends in China. At that time, the future was uncertain, the deadline was approaching, and I sent piles of emails, wrote various cover letters, participated in various interviews, and was rejected in the end without exception. I repeatedly reviewed my resume... I lay in my small room all day, and the biggest amount of exercise every day was going to the supermarket to buy vegetables and going home to cook.

Then I couldn't hold it anymore, and I wanted to hide in some kind of virtual world. Harry Potter has always been my Neverland, so when I turned on the computer and said loudly, "I want to write a story about a person who got a job inexplicably and was quite happy with it", Hogwarts jumped into my mind.

Yes, the position of Professor of Muggle Studies appeared in this fanfiction. The original setting was such a simple idea: a story about an ordinary person whose life was disrupted by magic and who kept falling in love with his own life - a supermarket cashier, a professor of Muggle Studies, or any possible profession (Muggles of various professions met in practical activities) - a story about constantly, constantly, and constantly falling in love with this world full of living people, magical or non-magical.

And falling in love with the world of Harry Potter is simply the simplest thing.

I am very grateful to all the book friends who have accompanied this unfinished fanfiction for several months. If it weren't for you, I can't believe that I could write for so long.

Salmon bows with skeleton cats, ghost chickens, ghost mice, and unknown patron saints.

——

By the way, I was very entangled in the profit of fanfiction for a while. To be honest, I am still entangled in this matter, and it is foreseeable that I will go through many rounds of self-debate.

I can say very honestly that when I first started writing, I didn't even think that I would have the day to sign a contract and put it on the shelves. So when I got the first payment, I suddenly didn't know how to deal with the money.

I was going to tell you this when I finished writing the whole book, but then I thought, how can I guarantee that what I write in the future will still satisfy you (or even myself)?

So even though it may be very hypocritical, I still want to tell you:

I used the payment (and maybe a little salary) to fulfill a wish that I wrote on my wish list when I was a child. When I was hiding under the quilt and reading Harry Potter by flashlight (and I believe I am definitely not the only reader who did this), the wish I made was now fulfilled with your help.

These certificates should also belong to you.

——

Editor: I didn't expect it to be like this when I woke up... I just donated 50,000 according to the wish list! It's hard to say whether I will donate in the future. Maybe I will use it to fulfill other wishes on the wish list x

I also want to share the joy with my book friends by posting it!

I am not a serious philanthropist. It's better to give money to the public welfare platform than to me. I would like to recommend a few education aid platforms that I think are pretty good (hopefully there are no spoilers…):

10+1 Education Aid: Targeted aid, ten sponsors form a WeChat group, and give the sponsored children RMB 300 to 500 (RMB 30 to 500 per person) on a regular basis every month. There are also volunteers and class teachers in the group, who will report on students’ grades from time to time, and when students get older, they will join the group themselves.

Yigecunxiao: Mainly one-to-one aid (but there should be no students in need of help on the official website at present), but there are also some other related projects. The annual financial briefing can be found on the official website.

Puhua One-to-One: Also mainly one-to-one aid, emphasizing direct contact between sponsors and sponsored persons, not only with donations of funds, but also with donations of goods. It was not too long ago that relatively indefinite public welfare donations were opened, and less professional briefings can also be found on the official website.
