Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 90 Prosthetics

"Don't worry, I won't persuade you to give up like your parents. Can you tell me the story of that guy named Charles? How did you meet?"

Margaret didn't want to say it at first, but she held it in for a long time and finally couldn't hold it back. When she started talking, she couldn't stop it immediately, and told everything she knew about Charles.

The girl's face was sometimes happy and sometimes sad, and she didn't notice the coldness in Anna's black pupils next to her.

After a long time, Margaret stopped slowly. She smiled and saw Anna next to her and said, "Sister Anna, thank you for listening. I have told you so much, and I feel much better. By the way, Has your vanished husband not been found?"

Anna turned aside with a sad face, "He hasn't come back for so long, I guess he can't be found, alas..."

Seeing Anna's sad appearance, Margaret quickly supported her by the shoulder, and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, I touched your sad place."

Anna shook her head and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, as if she was suppressing the pain in her heart, she said, "It's okay, I'm used to it."

Under the black skirt, two tentacles with black roots slowly stretched out, rolling towards the white skirt of the girl next to her.

"Sister Anna, how does it feel to tell my beloved to leave me? Does it hurt?"

The tentacles under the wooden chair stopped, and Anna quietly looked at the innocent girl in front of her.

She suddenly looked up at the darkness in front of her. "It's hard to describe... It's just very uncomfortable. Are you sure you really like him? Or are you just grateful for him saving you?"

The frowning Margaret kept twisting the lace of her skirt with her fair fingers.

"I don't know if I like Mr. Charles. I just want to see him again... I really want to. Sister Anna, you should understand this feeling, right?"

There was a trace of struggle in Anna's eyes.

Margaret didn't notice this, and was still thinking about her own affairs. "As long as I grow up, my father will give me a big manor and other assets. Maybe I can give all of these to Mr. Charles, so that he doesn't have to take risks at sea."

Anna listened to the girl's suggestion, and the corners of her mouth slightly raised, "You can write him a letter first, and ask him if he agrees first, maybe he will agree, and come to where happily."

Margaret's beautiful eyebrows just raised, and immediately fell down again. "No...my father will not allow me to contact Mr. Charles again."

"It's okay, you hand over the letter to me, and I'll give it to him for you. Mr. Pete is not feeling well recently, and I take care of some of his things for him. Recently, a group of cargo ships just happened to be heading to Coral Island."

Margaret was stunned for a moment on her beautiful face, and immediately hugged her excitedly. "Sister Anna, you are so kind! I have a lot to say to Mr. Charles. By the way, I also want to send him a photo of me now. And there are..."

Anna's slender arms wrapped around the girl, patting her on the back lightly, and the tentacles under the skirt retracted.

Charles sat on the windlass on the deck, silently watching the buoy on the water in front of him slowly move back.

Although it was still dark in front of him, he could already feel the difference in the smell in the air, and when he saw a fly landed on the deck, he knew that Coral Island was approaching.

Suddenly his severed arm lifted up and moved by itself, and Richard's voice sounded in his mind. "You said that if we go back now, shouldn't we buy a carving?"

"Don't be poor, the loss of an arm has reduced our strength a lot, and we must find a way to make up for it."

"It's broken, what else can I do? The severed hand is still inside the wall, why? Let's go in and pick it up after the island resurfaces?"

"Of course not, I mean, make up for it in other ways."

Just as the two of them talked about this, the doctor's angry scolding sounded in the cabin behind, and the content seemed to be that someone greedily stole his wine.

Charles stood up and walked towards the hatch. He thought of a good solution, the doctor happened to have what he wanted.

"What? Where did this prosthetic limb come from? Do you want to install one too?"

Charles nodded. "I think you're using it pretty well."

The doctor spread out the iron hand and shook it, "It's easy to use, but it's expensive, can you afford that money?"

"How much?"

"My hand alone is worth 3 million."

Charles opened his eyes slightly. He didn't expect a prosthetic limb to be so expensive. You must know that he bought the Narwhal for only 3.5 million. Such a small thing is worth a ship.

Richard was thinking about another question, "Hey~ Don't see through the sloppy old man, I didn't expect to have more money than us! Black doctor!"

"The 3 million echoes are worth the money. This is not an ordinary prosthetic. I heard from those guys that they used some things on the level of enchantment." The doctor said and pulled the outer shell off the iron hand, and put the large and small prosthetics underneath. The metal gear construction lights up.

Each gear is tightly fastened to each other, with the opening and closing of the doctor's palm, it turns quickly or slowly with a click.

Charles keenly noticed that when those gears were turning, the purple inscriptions faintly lit up.

"I don't know how those guys do it, but as long as it is installed, it is no different from the real hand in terms of use except that it is unconscious. If you need it, they can add some other things to it for you."

Charles was moved. If he had this thing, his severed arm would no longer be an influence.

"After you return to Hong Kong, please contact me. If possible, I need to install a pair."

The doctor nodded and said to Charles: "Yes, as long as the money is in place, they are easy to talk to. They usually operate in the western waters, but I remember that they seem to have a contact point on Coral Island."

"Try to hurry them up, I'm in a hurry."

"Hurry up? How long do you plan to rest this time?"

"Not necessarily, it depends on the situation on Kede's side. If they have returned and exchanged information with each other, then we will go to sea as soon as possible."

"If you want to survive, stay on the shore longer. You are lucky if you only lose an arm this time. If you are not sure, you will lose your life next time."

At this moment, there were cheers from the sailors on the deck, Charles followed the doctor and opened the door and went out.

The light beam of the lighthouse on Coral Island slowly swept over the Narwhal, and they came back alive again.
