Chapter 3 Floating
This real touch told him that he was not dreaming or hallucinating, and everything in front of him was real.
Seeing his blurry face reflected on the water, Zu Li became a little dazed.
Being alone in such a dead place, without a trace of anger and hope, Zuli felt a sense of despair and loneliness abandoned by the whole world.
Suddenly, a splash appeared in the water in front of him, and there was a faint sound.
Zu Li, who was in a trance, was startled and stood up suddenly.
"Who is it?" He suddenly felt like there was something in the water in front of him, and instinct made him take a step back.
He stared at the water surface for dozens of seconds, and noticed that the plastic basin floating on the water surface was shaking slightly. Other than that, there was no other movement.
After about a minute or two, after confirming that there was no other movement, Zu Li slowly approached the water surface of the stairs again, and looked into the water at close range again.
This time, he saw the corner of the stairs leading to the next floor. There was a black shadow soaked in the water, but because the stairs blocked his view, he couldn't see what the black shadow was.
Zu Li stared at the shadow, and his heart began to pound. From the angle he could see, the shadow that was revealed looked more and more like a human head.
He could be sure that he hadn't seen this shadow before, and he didn't know if he didn't notice it before or if the shadow had just drifted over.
"That...it looks like a human head...the ones that flutter away, like very long hair, is it a woman's head..."
The more Su Li thought about it, the more his scalp felt numb, and a chill appeared on his back. Finally, he couldn't restrain this fear, and he stumbled back.
He fled all the way back to his house, slammed the door, and returned to a familiar place. The fear and anxiety in his heart eased a little, and he calmed down a little, and began to rethink what he had just seen.
"Yes, it may really be a woman's head, because it may be a drowned person, most likely a resident living on the twenty-ninth floor, if this is true, it means that not everyone is I was evacuated, but many people were drowned by the sudden flood before they could escape. I am the survivor of the flood. Maybe there are other survivors like me who are trapped. I am not alone. people."
Thinking of this, Zu Li calmed down a bit. After thinking about it, he decided to go to the stairwell to take a closer look. He wanted to know if it was a corpse soaked in water.
He rummaged through the box and found a flashlight that he hadn't used for a long time. He tried it and it still worked. He took the flashlight with him, picked up another clothes pole, opened the door again and walked out.
The corridor was still silent. Zu Li walked along the corridor to the end, pushed open the two doors on the side of the corridor, and walked in.
Walking down the stairs, I turned on the flashlight and shone into the water in front of me.
Although it is daytime, the window in the stairwell is big, and the light is not particularly bright. He was flustered just now, and he didn't see it clearly. Now he turned on the flashlight and looked into the water carefully to observe it.
Finally, Zu Li was basically certain that the black shadow that appeared in the water at the corner of the stairs should be the head of a corpse. It looks very strange, and at first glance, it is very scary.
With mental preparation, Zu Li did not panic this time. He took a deep breath, stabilized his mind, put away the flashlight, held the clothes drying pole in both hands, and plunged into the water, trying to immerse it in the water. The corpse was salvaged.
Facing a corpse alone, Zu Li was sweating finely in his palms, felt his throat dry, gritted his teeth, and finally summoned up the courage to stretch the clothes drying pole into the water.
Soon Zuli realized that the length of the clothesline was not enough to reach the head.
He frowned, and finally walked down the stairs, stepped into the water, and went down a step.
The shoes got wet, and Zuli felt a little cold.
Now that he's made up his mind, Zu Li didn't think much about it. What he's thinking about now is how to fish this corpse up and take a look.
Holding the clothes drying rod, he followed the flooded stairs and took a few steps down. Soon the water submerged his knees, and the clothes drying rod finally reached the body soaked in water.
Zu Li first poked the head lightly with a clothes drying pole. The head floating in the water swayed slightly, and ripples rippled in the water.
The corpse showed a head from the corner of the stairs. Because of the water level, the corpse was blocked by the wall above and stuck there, so it did not float.
Zu Li used the clothes drying rod to move it a few times. Because of the buoyancy of the water, he didn't need to use a lot of force. Just a few times, the corpse slowly floated over.
Seeing that there was a corpse floating in the water, Zu Li took a deep breath and hurriedly backed up, following the stairs to the top again.
Even though he understood that this was just a corpse, he still felt an uncontrollable chill in his heart, and at the same time there was also a trace of curiosity in his heart, who was this corpse, and could it be someone he knew?
Of course, the biggest possibility is the residents living on the 29th floor. After all, even if the residents on other floors are drowned by water, the possibility of their bodies floating on this floor is far less than that on the 29th floor.
Handing the drying pole to his left hand, Zu Li turned on the flashlight again, wanting to take a closer look at the corpse.
When the light of the flashlight shone on the floating corpse in the water, Zuli shivered, and there was a trace of fear in his eyes.
Maybe it was because of being immersed in water for a long time. This floating corpse looked bloated and fat. Zu Li couldn't identify who the other party was at all. He could only tell it was a woman through the long hair floating around.
What terrified Zuli was that the female corpse was incomplete. The surface of the swollen corpse was blurred with blood and flesh, and the bones of the thighs, chest and abdomen were exposed. This was a sign of being eaten. Creepy.
Zu Li lived to the age of twenty-seven, and he had never seen such a terrifying and bloody scene. His heart trembled, and he suddenly fell back two steps.
"It was eaten by something, could it be a fish in the water or some other animal..."
Su Li didn't dare to think about it any longer, his scalp was numb, and a strong uneasiness suddenly surged in his heart, so he didn't dare to stay here to look at the half-eaten corpse, but quickly returned with the clothes drying pole. The corridor, and then tightly closed the door leading to the stairwell, only to feel the heart beating very violently.
