Chapter 1226 Davis Successfully Steals the Spotlight
Popovich saw that the situation was not right, so he turned around and replaced Baynes with Bertans.
He was at a disadvantage in the opening contest. He was taken advantage of by Stevens in the formation.
When Bertans came on, the Spurs did not use hammer tactics in the frontcourt. Instead, they opened up the space and allowed Aldridge to catch the ball under the basket and hit Robinson behind the back.
Aldridge moved continuously, faked a shot and knocked Robinson away, then turned around and wiped the board to score.
Robinson loves to dance so much that he can compete with Ma Zhuke, Tang Tian's teammate at UConn.
Stevens walked to the sideline and shouted a reminder.
Looking back, Tang Tiantian intercepted Davis' pass and scored against Aldridge, causing the latter's beater to foul.
After the ball was scored, Tang Tian turned back and pointed at Davis.
Davis' progress is obvious to all, but being able to pass such a good ball shows that the Pelicans' concentration tonight is at a very high level.
Tang Tianjia made a steady free throw, and the Pelicans continued to lead by 8 points at 12-4.
The Spurs continue to play Aldridge in the frontcourt.
With Stevens' reminder, Robinson didn't jump this time, but Aldridge had a huge weight advantage and suppressed Robinson's turn and hook.
He has scored two goals in a row in the low post.
Stevens turned around and called Siakam up.
Robinson's surprise role helped the Pelicans gain an advantage in the opening game, but Popovich responded quickly and leaving Robinson on the court would do more harm than good.
Siakam comes on the court, and there are one large and four small lineups on both sides.
The fans at the scene were a little nervous when they saw this.
You must know that the last game the Spurs won was due to the confrontation between one large and four small. Davis played the fifth position and was abruptly eliminated by the Spurs.
Tang Tian held the ball in the frontcourt and made a tactical gesture with his hand.
Davis pulled up to the high post for a pick-and-roll, Tang Tian took a sudden step, and then passed the ball to the baseline.
Siakam cut to the basket from the baseline, caught the ball and dunked with both hands to score!
The Pelicans are on full offense tonight!
14 to 6, still an 8-point difference.
The Spurs continued to open up space in the frontcourt, and Leonard held the ball and beat Green to the basket.
Green tried his best, but still couldn't block it.
Leonard knocked away Green and made a layup from close range.
Davis reacted quickly and helped block the shot.
Leonard showed great strength, adjusted in the air, and was stunned to give the ball to Aldridge at the free throw line before falling.
This ball was difficult. Although Leonard passed the ball with his personal ability, the ball was passed from a lower position and Aldridge bent down to catch the ball.
After he caught it, he stood up and shot from mid-range, but Davis came back with help!
His shot was seriously interfered with and he made a three-shot shot!
The scene burst into cheers.
Although Davis' offense tonight was not as hot as the first game, his entire performance gave people the feeling that he was in hot shape!
In this series against the Spurs, he successfully stole the spotlight!
In the Pelicans' frontcourt, Siakam took the ball in the high post and attacked Bertans directly from the frame. After shaking, he broke through for a layup and then scored!
16 to 6!
The Pelicans opened the point difference to double digits.
The cheers could not stop, and many fans stood up from their seats, swaying their plump bodies.
The Pelicans' performance tonight can be described in two words, great!
In the Spurs' frontcourt, Leonard and Aldridge played a pick-and-roll. After the split, Leonard attacked Davis and took a shot in the air after the confrontation.
But Davis was in really good shape tonight. Although he was pushed away, he stretched out his hand and suddenly touched the ball with his fingertips.
Leonard's shot was blocked!
The ball did not hit the frame, and Davis quickly grabbed the rebound after landing.
The Spurs failed to attack the Pelicans basket continuously!
Popovich has walked from the bench to the sideline.
Siakam continued to hold the ball in the frontcourt and beat Bertans, still breaking through and squeezing past him.
Bertans can shoot three-pointers, but he moves slowly and looks awkward in front of a flexible striker like Siakam.
Aldridge helped defend, and Siakam stepped up directly.
Aldridge didn't dare to make a move with a foul on his back, and raised the ball at the last moment.
Siakam showed his talent and scored the ball with an elegant movement in the air!
18 to 6!
The Pelicans are on the offensive!
The fans at the scene raised their hands and cheered.
The Pelicans tonight are completely two teams from the Pelicans in the last game!
Technology and ability are both important, but in a basketball game, motivation and hard work are also important!
The people are still the same, but their fighting ability is completely different!
The on-site photographer gave Popovich a shot on the sidelines.
Popovich stood blankly on the sidelines, his expression somewhat helpless.
Some people compare a basketball game to a game of chess, with the head coaches of both sides arranging their troops and playing against each other.
But a basketball game is more than just playing chess. Tactics are a very important part, but it also depends on the performance of the players on the court.
The same tactic was used by the Spurs in the last game against the Pelicans, but it didn't work at all tonight.
Popovich's tactic itself is not a perfect tactic, it is his ability to make the best use of everything.
Bertans can stretch the floor on the offensive end, but he is a colander on the defensive end.
After Bertans pulled away in the last game, the Spurs were very successful in attacking the basket and knocked down Davis early.
Therefore, Bertans' weaknesses on the defensive end are covered or offset.
But Davis was in excellent form tonight, defending against two waves of Spurs attacks at the basket.
So looking back, it actually magnified Bertans' defensive weaknesses infinitely.
George holds the ball and continues to rush to the basket. Bertans is on the court. It makes no sense for the Spurs not to rush.
But George was facing Tang Tian, not Green. He rushed to the three-second zone and was forced to stop, and was directly intercepted by Tang Tian in the next second!
After Tang Tian stole the ball, he turned around for a fast break, carried Leonard to the frontcourt, and made a beautiful back pass to Siakam who was following up.
Siakam caught the ball and jumped into the air, directly attacking the frame with both hands.
"Bang!"
After smashing the ball into the basket, Siakam hit his chest and roared directly after landing.
He got high tonight!
20 to 6!
Popovich reached out and called a timeout.
The cheers at the scene have already exploded.
Tang Tian turned around and high-fived Siakam, patting his head to encourage him.
Popovich called a timeout to curb the Pelicans' offense, but the Pelicans spent all their lives tonight and everyone worked bravely, but it didn't work.
The Pelicans led the Spurs by as many as 30 points in the third quarter and ultimately defeated the Spurs 130-105.
After scoring 130 points against the Spurs in the playoffs, the Pelicans played the most enjoyable game of the series tonight.
Seven members of the Pelicans scored in double figures. Tang Tian scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the third quarter, winning again.
Siakam had 18 points, Brogdon had 14 points and 6 assists, Green had 13 points, Kuzma and Harrell had 12 points each, and Robinson had 2 points, 7 rebounds and 4 fouls.
Davis scored 22 points, 20 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 steals and 0 turnovers, successfully stealing the spotlight.
